I was going to wait the 30 days to ask for this sub through r/redditrequest but since you asked on here this was my plan: This niche sub is difficult to moderate because outside of the typical spam, catfishers, and advertising you have to moderate the context of the post. The topic of this community is also a bit subjective, so a mod would pretty much have to follow every post to ensure compliance. I think the only way to successfully run a niche subreddit like this is in ârestrictedâ mode and to require verification to ensure the author even meets the community criteria before they have a chance to submit anything. I would restrict the community to verification only. Go through some of of the top posts within the last year to find prequalified posters to add as approved users then announce the new subredditâs verification direction and include the steps to verify. I would then add a group of like minded moderators pulling a couple from the approved posters as they know the subject matter best having the qualifications to post here. This has worked on recent communities Iâve restored and would honestly be the only effective strategy for this community given the sheer size. Having an open board would be too much moderation work given it would require analysis of every post.
